Victor's studio is a small highly personal studio located ;at 87 Fresh Pond Parkway near Fresh Pond Reservation in Cambridge, Massachusetts. Classes are on-going and focus on studying the yoga of BKS Iyengar. They are characterized by a great deal of personal attention with a focus on the safety, focus and alignment of each pupil.
Over the twenty years of its existence our studio has been graced by the presence and teachings of many yoga luminaries. Wonderful teachers and practitioners including BKS Iyengar, Patricia Walden, Victor van Kooten, Dona Holleman, Gabriella Giubilaro and many others have been at the studio and contributed some portion their energy and spirit to the venue.
Its goal is to be a quiet center for each person that studies and practices there. It strives to become a place where each can commune with their own quiet center and promote their own spiritual and physical growth.
There are openings in the regular class held on Wednesday evenings from 7:00 pm until 8:30 pm. This class is open to students of all levels. Please call ahead (617-661-1594) if you would like to attend this class for the first time.
Classes are taught in the style of the yoga master BKS Iyengar of Pune, India whose teaching and being has been a constant inspiration to Victor and a large community of devoted pupils throughout the world.
"Normal" class charges are:
"Drop-In" Class = $15
Class Prepayment = $48 (2 mo. expiration)
No pupil is turned away because of lack of funds. If the "normal" class charges are a problem for any student they are welcome to attend classes for no charge or for any other payment that is comfortable for them.
