My eyes get blurry after a hot yoga session.

I've wiped and blotted my eyes some classes to keep the sweat out.

I've also not wiped or blotted and just let the sweat flow.

Im neutral enough to where the sweat doesn't burn my eyes in class, but hours afterward I feel like I have a film over my eyes. I rinse them out with water and nothing changes.

When I sleep and then wake up, Im usually a little crusty and my eyes feel fresh. Any ideas what are making my eyes filmy and a good way to remedy this?

It gives me an illusion of being wiped out after class, but it's really my eyes are just feeling tired...

Low blood pressure, dehydration, headache and dry eyes could be a few out of many causes of blurred vision...

Drinking water, or some fluid with electrolytes, might make it better — or sweating less during practice. Or see a specialist...

what is better?? wiping or not wiping?? does it make a diff? have you tried drops?? the salt from the sweat drying in the eyes is most likely the culprit. a good sweat band on the fore head and some drops would prob help.

bennerdan - I had this problem for the first few months when I started practicing, too! I always felt like my eyes were sweating for a few hours after class, and when I did evening classes, the next morning I'd wake up with super crusty eyes. I wiped them as I felt the needed, and it didn't seem to do any harm. I don't know what the cause was, but my body seemed to adjust after about 2 or 3 months of practicing, and I have only had one or two more days of this since then (in 2 years).

I can't really offer you any advice, but at least you know you're not the first one to experience this. I hope it goes away for you soon.

I've tried drops and they work for a few minutes or a few hours. It's definitely something "in" my eyes as even water gives me a minute or two of relief. It's kind of gunky whatever it is, but dries overnight.

More of a nuisance than anything.

Taking a shower and flushing my eyes with water, right after class helps me a lot with this. I think a lot of bacteria gets in the eyes.

Have you consulted your teacher about it?
