I would like to know your thoughts about Kids doing Yoga. I recently worked with a yogini in India to produce ‘Teaching Yoga Through Story’ series for kids (available at www.soul-indulgences.com). I strongly believe it will help them grow stronger physically, mentally, and emotionally – and they'll have a lot of fun too! What do you guys think?

Here's a good link for you...

My daughter has been doing yoga with me since she was around 7-8 years old. She's 17 now and still has her own yoga practice.

my son is 19 months old now. when he was tiny, i would teach with him wrapped to me. he would play next to me (or sleep) while i practiced. sometimes, he would mirror my movements.

today, he practices a bit on his own now and again (downward and upward dog mostly) and he is welcome to practice with me and sometimes does and sometimes doesn't. he usually plays with his blocks instead.

around 7/8 is when i think kids really start "learning" yoga, and in the teen years, develop an independent practice.

i was raised as my son is, and that's how it worked out for me.

like Cyndi's kid.

Yes, yoga can be good to the kids but make sure to do yoga that is suitable for the age of the kid.
