Subject: Bikram after circumcision

Hi guys,

I am a 30 year-old male who is just about to have a circumcision operation. I was wondering if anyone had any idea of how soon I will be able to go back to the studio after the operation?

Obviously, I will be listening to my body etc., but if anyone has any experience of this or knows anyone that does, I'd be really grateful!

Thanks a lot!

LOL....not many guys do bikram. Not many guys have a circumcision AND do Bikram.

why dont you just ask your doctor.

BTW why are you getting the elephant trunk lopped off now? most of us had it done as a baby.

- I'm from the UK and in Europe most people don't get it done as a baby. It's become, erm, medically necessary as I've got older.

I'll ask my doctor again - although he's never heard of Bikram, and I'm worried about the effect of the heat on the stitches etc,. I guess I'll just have to wait and see....

Perhaps treating this as you would ANY form of surgery would be helpful. If you had stitches closing an incision serious physical exertion isn't the best choice. The area involved is "unusual" for us North Americans, but the principles of surgery are the same. Perhaps you should ask your doctor this "How long should I wait before intensely exercising or getting into a pool for a workout?" . Follow those guidelines. My gut instinct is that you would be wise to wait a month or 6 weeks to be on the safe side! No sense in popping stitches during a class!!!! Gaak, quite the visual, no?
