Yes, Nadi Suddhi is known as Alternate Nostril Breathing.
Technique:

• Sit in any steady and comfortable posture with back straight, eyes closed and.
• Left hand should be on your knees with Gyana Mudra (tip of index & thumb together). And right hand with Nashika or Vishnu Mudra you are going to practice Nadi Suddhi or Alternate nostril breathing.
• With the right thumb, close the right nostril and slowly inhale through the left without making any sound for as long as you can with comfort.
• After complete inhalation, close the left nostril with the ring and little fingers and exhale very slowly taking a longer period of time through the right.
• The duration of exhalation will be double that of inhalation.
• After complete exhalation, inhale through the right nostril and exhale through the left. This is one round.
• Practice this for 5 – 10 rounds.

Thanks

(Nashika or Vishnu Mudra: The thumb is straight and used to control over the right nostril, little and ring fingers are also straight and used to control over the left nostril. Index and middle fingers will be bending at the base of thumb.)

Although I am practising Iyengar yoga and Mr. Iyengar is advising not to do any pranayama after your practice, I didn’t go with that rule and after my third year of yogasanas, I started practicing Nadi Suddhi pranayama after finishing my daily practice. (I don’t practice with a teacher, but alone) At first I felt some stress in my breathing. Then I tried to concentrate better and exercise this pranayama more calmly and only with my natural length of breath. I also minimized the number of circles. It started working on me in a nice way. Makes you feel centred and calm. Now I cannot feel that I have finished my practice if I don’t do just two or maximum three circles of Nadi Suddhi pranayama right after I get up from savasana. Or should I be doing savasana after?

Namaste!

Nadi-Suddhi is not a Pranayama. It is a purification technique of Yoga Nadi System.
According to Yoga Shastra the ‘Prana Vayu’ cannot enter into the Nadis if they are full of impurities or not purified properly. Therefore, before we start practicing Pranayama, all the Nadis should be purified through the Yogic Nadi-Suddhi techniques. These techniques also important to bring Ida and Pingala into equilibrium, which is a major focus of Hatha Yoga practice. Balancing sun and moon, or Ida and Pingala, facilitates the awakening and arising of kundalini, and thus the awakening of higher consciousness.

Please don’t get angry with me if I talk more then people want. This is my nature Kristi...Anyway, 2-3 rounds of Nadi-Suddhi is fine if it makes you feel centred and calm. It would be nice if you do your Savasana after Nadi-Suddhi. I personally feel different, when I do Savasana at the end of my Asana practice after Nadi-Suddhi. I wish you all the best......

I am doing 3 rounds only this Nadi-suddhi. Is that ok for me? How many times in a day I have to do this. Both morning and evening? or one time is enough...?

Thanks

3 rounds of Nadi-Suddhi is enough to start with and once in a day. Later you can increase the number of round. Once a day in good, however, you can also do morning & evening both if you have enough time. Thanks & best wishes....
