Subject: practicing yoga after spinal fusion

I was in an accident last november (plane crash--totally nuts) requiring spinal fusion of my T10 to L3. Prior to the surgery I practiced yoga regularly and am ready to start easing back into it.

Can anyone recommend any good resources (instructors, workshops, books, DVDs, you name it) that deal with spinal fusion cases?

Many thanks for any information you can share!!!

Wellcome to the forum velisha
Because each case of spinal fusion surgery is different, (different depending on the amount of the damage that made it necessary to do the surgery and also different in terms of the method that the surgeon has used to bind the vertebrae together) I think that you should FIRST OF ALL ask your own doctor/surgeon for a person responsible and experienced enough to help you go back to yoga, or to any exercise. And also that person/instructior whom you will find, will have to 100% cooperate with the directions of the doctor who did the surgery!
My mother had a spinal fusion surgery two years ago, but hers was a very difficult case and at the age of 81... She is in perfect condition now, but of course... no yoga for her.

You need to meet a qualified & experienced Yoga Therapist to guide you.

Namaste!
