Subject: Yoga prop business

Hello All,

I am a resident of the San Diego, CA area and I am planning to launch an Iyengar yoga prop business soon. Could you please give me your insights as to what props you wished existed or owned, or wished were cheaper or useful to enhance or facilitate your yoga practice? Your feedback regarding materials (bamboo, foam, etc.) will be also appreciated.

Namaste!

yazzie - if this was ten years ago, I would tell you that you had a brilliant business idea. Now though, props are pretty easy to come by. I have seen yoga mats in my grocery and drug stores, have bought foam bricks in Winners/TJMaxx and can find everything else, including a gorgeous backbender online. Not to mention every little studio having props for sale. Is there really a need for this?

I don't mean to be discouraging - maybe others will tell me I am wrong. I find a way to make most of my stuff, including bolsters, wood bricks and my home rope wall, so that makes it pretty cheap for me.

yazzie, i have similar questions as tourist...

can you offer something that is wanted but NOT offered or easily available online? can you offer something either exceptionally reduced cost compared to others or MUCH GREATER quality?

do check out what is already available and see how you would be unique...
