No matter what you eat or drink, you will get old and die. You may even die sooner due to an accident or sudden illness. Eating fresh healthy food is not just about living longer or being healthy. Eating fresh healthy food tastes better and gives you more pleasure! You also feel better after eating it. You don't have to be a raw food freak or something, but eating junk food should be avoided whenever possible as it throws the chemical balance of your body off and is addicting. Why do you think that 1 in every 3 Americans is overweight? Why do you think that diabetes, high blood pressure and depression are the most common illnesses? Food producers will produce whatever we buy. If we buy more fresh foods, that is what they will produce.

Well today while I was running the treadmill thingy at the gym, the local news was on. They were talking about the ingredients in certain foods...what we don't know. One of the foods they were discussing about was COOL WHIP. They were comparing the chemical compound structures of it and non-dairy creamers. Guess which ones they were comparing it to as being the same as???? ANTIFREEZE. YIKES,

Gosh, there goes my blissful cool whip moments,

Well, timeforlife works for the Cool Whip folk so maybe we will get a rebuttal of that new story.

i usually do parfaits with yogurt, granola, honey, and whatever fresh fruit i have around. sometimes i'll use maple syrup instead of honey, and sometimes i don't use any sweet at all.

and of course, i don't consume cool whip. LOL i don't consume a lot of things, though, for various reasons.

this morning's breakfast was an omelette with sour cream, spinach and mushrooms. i had multigrain toast with fruit spread and butter, and some pineapple! oh, and early grey with lemon.

so yummy!

oh, and my most recent junk food cravings are s'mores. of course, i get organic, natural marshmallows, artisan graham crackers (Doctor Cracker brand--OMG!) and of course, dark chocolate (73% right now). you really can't have s'more than one. it's too much. oh, and my friend brought some peach preserves that she'd made to the fire pit on my birthday (that was my present),a nd so i added it to my s'more. and OMG!

also, ice cream. of course, i either make it myself or buy the local organic stuff, but it's good stuff!

i think i'm allowed to have it though, being pregnant.

baby's on the move again. time to pee. always time to pee when baby is on the move.

And it's SO freaking hot here--I just went to the grocery and got two giant deals of gatorade, cranberry juice, orange juice, and milk (for my oreos). All I want to do is DRINK!

water is always good too. i also make roobois chai and put it in the fridge. makes great iced tea!

it's hot here, but not as hot as down there, i'm sure. we're in a 'heat wave' with temps at 95 or so. it's really not that bad. the humidity is up, too, but again, not intolerable.

people like to complain around here. LOL

today's breakfast: plums, honey, granola, and yogurt.

sure:

scramble eggs

saute mushrooms

wilt spinach (i like mine chopped pretty finely)

toss spinach and mushrooms together

when eggs are done, shimmy out onto a plate 1/2 way and put spinach/mushrooms on 1/2, then sour cream over it. then fold eggs over that.

how you do the spinach, etc, is up to you. see, i did the mushrooms in butter, white wine and shallot, but the spinach was just wilted down over the mushrooms quick-like and still bright green. eggs had some herbs de provance in them as well as salt and pepper, and i used butter in the pan to cook the eggs too.

Thanks lady. However, like my first yoga class, I'll need a teacher to help me with the sanscrit part: "wilt,"  "de provance"

lol

put the raw spinach in the pan, and as it starts to go bright green and a bit soft/mushy, it's wilted.

and, from a region of france. it's a nice mix and easy to find in the super market.

I would have to agree with yogurt on this one with granola. Whipped cream sounds to sugary.

Breakfast is soooooo important. I eat fruit (one citrus and one non-citrus); almonds, and drizzied honey for added carbs. If I have a busy day, I'll throw in more fruit and a yogurt.
