Subject: Fibroid tumor / leg & hip pain

I have a small fibroid tumor on the right side of my uterus.

How I found out: I have been having extreme pain in my right hip and front thigh during yoga and other activities. I have very open and flexible hips normally, so it's driving me nuts. I went to an orthopedist, who did an MRI of my hip. A shadow was seen on the top of the MRI, which indicated a fibroid, and I had an ultrasound which confirmed it.

Has anyone experienced frontal leg/hip pain from a fibroid? I'm trying to figure out if I should continue with the orthopedist and treat this as a sports injury, or if somehow the fibroid is impinging on a nerve. I am seeing the gyno next week, but I wondered if this had happened to anyone else here.

I'm just interested in the leg pain aspect, I do know the whole surgery/no surgery debate. I am going to see one of the leading specialists in the Boston area for that end of it. Thanks.
