Subject: earthquakes?

Hi all,

My name is Arkalem. I've been meditating for a few years now, but I haven't had a teacher for a majority of tha time. I had one at first, but things kind of fell apart after I joined the Army. Anyhow, I usually meditate at night before I sleep, and for just about the last 2 or so years, I've exerienced a problem that seems to be blocking me from going any further.

I am easily able to achieve total relaxation. I likewise have no problems during the first portion of my meditations. Unfortunately, it seem like any time I try to press beyond my initial state of awarness, I am confronted by an uncomfortable, sometimes violent sense of movement. I feel as if I am being shaken rapidly up and down.

Usually, the feeling is so unbearable that I lose focus and give up.

Has anyone heard of this? Any suggestions?

Hi Arkalem,

Welcome to the forum.

If it is not too personal a question, please describe your meditation practise.

Thank you.

Jonathon
