| I just wonder if anyone of you know any good yoga exercises again stress. I have always suffered from stress before my exams, sometimes so bad that I get a black-out during my exams. Now I am a student at a very prestigious university in Belgium and I'm almost dying at the moment (my exams starts next week).
I started with yoga some six months ago, and I do feel a lot better. I sleep better and feel happier, but so far I haven't found any exercise to help me cope with the stress I feel when I think of my upcoming exams.

| If you are already prepared for your exams well, and you are a good student, do the following:
Watch a very hillarious movie for 3 hours a day. |

| Try the following:
Sit comfortably with an erect spine and closed eyes.
Gently but deeply inhale through your nose and count 50 to yourself.
Exhale through your nose and count 49.
Inhale, 48.
Exhale, 47.
Continue until you reach 19 and then only count on exhales.
When you reach zero, sit quietly as long as you like. Allow thoughts to surface and disappear like bubbles in a glass of champagne. Do not suppress thoughts or hold on to them.
When you are ready, get up and you will be both relaxed and refreshed.
This exercise relaxes your body with the breathing and quiets your mind because the backwards counting keeps your mind busy enough that it cannot continue the stressful worrying. If thoughts interrupt the counting, just start over. If counting backwards is too easy and is therefore interrupted too often, try counting in a foreign language.

| lay on your back with your feet up the wall, with your butt as close to the wall as possible.
if you are limited by hamstring flexibility, you can be slightly away from the wall.
allow your abdomen to sink towards the floor with each exhalation.
...
if you are female, do not practice this during menstruation.

| hi man , dont worry.
Just follow a good routine, do some posture and more focus on pranyama (Naadi sodhan, and Bharamari), atlest for 30 min do yoga nidra, i think thats enough.
You will felll very good.

| thought I would give you guys a little update ;-) I have been quite more relaxed during my two last exams (English linguistics and German literature, the two I feared the most), and I feel quit good about my German linguistic exam tomorrow!
I actually had a feeling that I could control my nerves before and during my exam by pausing the writing for a while and just focus on my breath!

| I know what you mean about stress before exams. What I do is about 15 minutes of yoga no matter what poses, sometimes the Sun Salutation, and add a few other poses that are light but give a good stretch. I usually do yoga before bed because it helps me to sleep even better and relaxes the mind. I end the yoga with a 10-15 min meditation, and I imagine that I'm in a forest with nothing but nature.

| I'm with kulkarnn on the hilarious movie recommendation. "There's Something About Mary" quite seriously may have saved me from a nervous breakdown before my qualifying exams in grad school.
Of course, if I'd been doing yoga back then, I might not have gotten that close to the brink in the first place.... |
