Looking good! It's wonderful to see how the nursery has progressed, particular the pics appear to have been tweaked a bit since the last post, or they're more detailed than I remember.

Regardless, good luck with the child.

thanks, GJ! There's been quite a bit of work in there since the last pics... a lot more flowers, some bugs, my cats.. and a floor! We're excited about it.. especially now that we are in the home stretch!

zb- yeah, just some final resting homes for some things. I have a few boxes up there yet. I think we are going to get a carpet remnant for up there.. they sew the edges so it looks really nice. We figure we have a little time to get the carpet, though She has PLENTY of blankets for tummy time!

Ollie-

bstqltmkr- aren't they great! They are images of Cotton and Coaltrain- my two kitties that live outside and refuse to come in. I figured they would be appropriate in a garden mural since they live in my garden

remnants work. be sure to let it VOC-out (that is, air outside for a few hours) before putting it in her nursery. vocs are volatile organic compounds. not great for anyone, really. baubiologists recommend setting just about everything out in the sun for a day (even winter sun) and letting most of the VOCs out. it's hard to do when snowing though (like here).

i love the mural a lot. i, too, thought the cats were great! it's a really cute room! you're about a month away, huh?

zb- yeah, that was the game plan on the remnant. We are officially 30 days from our due date today- now, of course, that doesn't mean a whole lot!

I figure my ballpark range is from Christmas until Jan 15th (that's when they would induce). My Dad is convinced she is coming on the full moon-- which is Christmas Eve.. my Mom says before the new year (she has seen her as a 2007 baby)... my husband says Jan 12th... and I have absolutely no clue! Anyone want to take a guess??

well, christmas is two weeks away--does that put you at about 36 weeks or so?

are you having any cramping or prodomal labor? some first timers do and some don't. if you did, i would say you're closer rather than farther. but then, one of my friends was in PL for 6 weeks (and gave birth at 42 weeks according to the EDD, but she counted it at 41). of course, that was also her 4th child.

babes tend to follow the moon, but stress will hold them back--even positive stress such as the holidays.

whenever you feel calm and ready, that's when it will happen.

Okay, that's what I thought, but couldn't remember. Don't know what you're paying the painter, but it's not enough, whatever it is. Seriously, you kid is going to be SO spoiled, and probably not even know it.

zb- you nailed it- well I'll be 36 weeks on Monday...

GJ- luckily, the painter is a friend of mine- so she charged me a very reasonable rate- it was her first mural too! And, yes, this baby will be very spoiled- if not by us, by her grandparents. She's the first grandchild for my in-laws... and I'm the baby of the family- so my parents are all awash in "my baby is having a baby" emotion!!

Wow, you've done a lot since the last photos! Love your kitties :-)

Just one niggling concern - you *have* tested you can lift junior out of the crib without cracking your head on the ceiling?

Fee- I can, but the question is whether my husband can... we may end up moving the crib and the changing table out from the wall a few inches to give him a little room. He's a tall dude.

I'm glad you've tested that :-) Junior'll be heavy and wriggly enough to hold soon enough without having to think about low ceilings whilst sleep deprived :-)

Sorry Fee, that has to be June wriggling around, not Junior.

We actually had to install a tall banister along the hallway (over the stairs) -- because my husband has to walk right up against it because of the slanted ceiling in the hall! We didn't want him pitching over the edge while sleepily walking around up there!! LOL! The space used to be a storage attic that we converted- hence the sloping ceilings.

I'd figured the attic thing as many terrace houses in my home town have loft conversions with interesting room shapes not dissimilar to those in your nursery.

I'm beginning to suspect you're going to get your revenge over the labour pains by having hubby on nightshift once june/ior arrives just for the fun of hearing him yell as he gets another bump on the head! *LOL*

Hahaha! We'd even considered making little cloud "pillows" and affixing them in strategic spots so he doesn't bump his head! But I lost motivation for that... we'll see how it goes..

That reminds me of a cafe/art gallery in Covent Garden, London. Most of their exhibits are downstairs and there's a couple of low beams that they've covered with upholstered foam. It's called Coffee, Cake, and Kink so you can imagine why the performance artists might need a little protection

That's pretty funny, sometimes I think we need totally padded walls here.

I've always thought I could use a padded room at the restaurant- to bang my head against when things are soo ridiculous... BUT, at least I have the walk-in- which is a cool, refreshing, sound-proof room!! Until I get busted in there by the staff... and I'm ranting and raving at the potato salad!! hahahahahahahahaha!!
