Nice article about inflammation, the body's response to it, and aging.

Clearly yoga (at least yoga asana) has a role to play here.

Dear Brother Ollie: Inflammation itself is the Body's Response. Nothing should be done to remove it. But, everything should be done to prevent it.

This is why I love viewing things in terms of science.

Yes, our body responds to things with inflammation, but remember that we evolved to reproduce, period. Hence, our bodies did not evolve to withstand the cumulative effects of repeated inflammations over a long period of time.

So, as you said, avoidance is one of the keys and I think that asana has a role to play here.
