I like her book quite a lot, but have never heard any personal accounts. Don't you hold poses for awhile in Bikram? In an average Iyengar class, you don't typically hold for hours. In higher levels, maybe more than a minute per pose, but usually more in and out of it, working it different ways. Give it a try! Dive in!

Oh but Tourist...it's so different when you're holding the postures that long in ALIGNMENT!!

Seriously, in all the Bikram/Hot classes I've been to, they didn't hold the postures as long, I mean like, 26 postures done twice in only 90 mins?? OTOH, when I do my home Bikram "alignment" practice...it takes me 2 hours to get through it all.

It'll be okay I'm sure. My teacher is not Iyengar, however, she holds the postures in our regular yoga classes longer than she does in Bikram for sure and teaches alignment. So, I should be somewhat primed for this. This particular studio that I plan on attending is suppose to be pretty good. If I don't like it, there's always the Anusara studio around the corner. Lately I've been feeling I need to venture out. We only have 2 class choices per week here in the mountains...sometimes, I want a weekend class. I refuse to do the Gym yoga that is local to my area. One yoga class is being held in a Realtors office space. When I called she said they did "out of body expeirences"..I was like, WTF?? Oh well...........
