Hi All,
The way I see it, charity of any kind just shows society as a whole is not functioning properly.

And people involved in "organised" charity are really trying to make them self's feel better, which is not a bad thing! We just have to be honest about are intentions.

True charity is your hearts puretest impulse in the moment of action.

And all any yoga does is help you listen to that voice.

When you try to organise yoga you take people away from them self's, people try to be like some one else rather than listen to them self.
You don't need to promote yoga. Yoga is a process of seeking, if you need yoga in your life it will find you, it's the way of the Lord.
If you try and "sell" it to people there intention could be confused as to why they doing it and not really helping them, or how yoga is perceived.

Really the world does not need saving. It's mans attempts at saving you that has caused all the trouble.
The only way the world will come to "peace" is when the inner climate is quiet and you see the world in a truer light.

" God invented religion and the Devil organised it"

That is a fantastic statement. Thank you thank you thank you. That means first create Disparity and then Charity! And, why should Charity have anything to do with Taxes, I can not understand? Big headache. First give in charity, then keep all receipts, and then claim tax deduction. Oh ****. That means remember the donation you gave throughout your life!

The comment wasn't directed at any body But what I was trying to say was that when I observe a minute's silence for the those killed by war, I am also observing a minute's wish for world peace, and that in this way, the two ceremonies are linked-for me, at any rate

This is why I have an alter. Every morning when I wake up I chant my mantras to everybody, light all my candles (my beeswax candles) and pray for world peace, every day, before I start my day. It's such a good thing to do.

ok, well, I just found out about a local Trance Dance associate with the global mala.. I will be going to that. I did one in Miami and it was phenomenal!!

I don't think I'd be able to do 108 sun salutes at 6 1/2 months pregnant..

Congrats on your little one as well! I haven't been doing a prenatal class per se... but I have been doing yoga and my teachers have known I was pregnant from the beginning.... so they are helping me modify. My studio only has one prenatal class and it unfortunately falls during a time I am at work..
Although, come to think of it..... my husband and I had to switch shifts this Saturday & Sunday so I can go to the trance dance... Hmmm... that means I will be out of work early enough to head to the prenatal class.......

I think the event in DC sounds nice! I don't know that I'd make it to the evening events- Kirtan from 6:30-9.. but who knows?? I'm usually pretty pooped by Sunday night.

Everything went great.

After one or two sun salutes we were asked to stop and I guess we did 108 as a group.

I did 54 Surya Namaskar A and ending with a 5 breath handstand, baddha padmasana, tolasana, and savasana.

I think there were about 100 people. It was a very nice event.

In the back of my mind, I keep hearing Neel saying 108 could be violent. So, I really took it easy. Thanks Neel. I could of done 108 without any trouble, but everyone was leaving and I was looking forward to swimming with my family.

I want to it again. My whole upper body feels wonderful and alive today.

I didn't make it to the events yesterday... but I did go to the Trance Dance on Sat. night. It was great!!! SOOOO invigorating!! The friend I went with is very protective of me and my pregnancy.. AND, the prenatal instructor from my studio was there as well, not to mention the entire thing was led by another one of my teachers.. so between the three of them, I had a small group looking after my best interest! But it was a lot of fun! I wish they had them more often!
