| Hey all,
Here are some beautiful pictures of yoga asanas... one of my teachers (one of my faves) is the woman up top in the first photo... she's in many of the others as well... enjoy!

| Thanks for sharing these Jos. I now feel quite depressed over my own practise - and yes, Neel, I do know it's not yogic to be competitive

| Thanks jos. Very cool! My Iyengar background has me constantly wishing everyone was wearing tights instead of baggy pants so I can see the working of the legs! I was very happy to se that the last photo was upavista konasana in headstand. Even in my ridiculous state of advanced age, sore shoulder and pathetic stamina at the moment, I can do that one! (Not that I am competitive, either... ) |

| Apparently, these photos are going to be used for a global mala calendar.. I hesitated posting them here.. but my teacher sent them out as a mass email.. so I figured it was ok..
glenda- I don't know about the others, but she always wears fitted clothing for class... and she's very conscientious of alignment.. |

| That will be a lovely calendar I have always wanted to do an "ordinary people" yoga calendar, but haven't been able to get that going. |

| glenda:
maybe we can figure something out. |

| I always thought that would be cool too- just normal people doing yoga.. |

| Fantastic. Thanks. joscmt: hope you are taking enough rest now a days. Orbilla: Do not worry. Taking care of the coccyx is the highest yoga exercise for you, today. |

| Oh - that was not meant as critical - just my way of looking at things. I do love the photos and appreciate the artistic qualities |

| karmann- I know it's a mudra of some sort... but I forget it's exact meaning. Maybe one of the more experienced yogis can chime in. We've done it in class before.. but I do forget it's meaning.
neel- I am trying to balance the rest with some activity. I want to keep myself and the baby healthy! |

| I am Neel, honest! It's been 6 and a half weeks now. I resumed my asana work last week by doing no more than 30 minutes in any one session and have been focussing on the basics (e.g. D-F dog, triangle, extended child, virasana, head to knee, etc)
I had the 5th of 8 Intermediate Satyamvida classes last night. My teacher for this says that perhaps my injuries and ailments this summer have been a message to be to concentrate more on the other aspects of yoga. As I signed up for this course to balance the physicality of Iyengar with something more spiritual, she's probabaly right.
I was the only one in class last week so she chucked out her plan and gave me a private, including a healing session. :-)

| karmann - occupational hazard, I guess. I know hairdressers who always look at hair first and so on. Many years ago I had a friend in retail clothing sales who quit because she found herself judging everyone's clothing all the time... |
