This is nutrional problem if all other factors are perfect in your case. Otherwise, it is a mixture of many factors. I need to know more, possibly in person to tell you what I really really feel.

It certainly sounds like it.

Have you taken a food intolerance test?

no sorry. I usually recommend the York test, which would be about 80-90 dollars. It is a little expensive, though definately worth it, even if you have to save for a while. There is a free way to do it but it's less accurate , a lot of hassle and takes a long time.

Personally, I follow the principles of Patrick Holfold, the UK optimum nutrition specialist. Search on google and you'll find all his info.

Did you ever contact the Cleveland Chinmaya Mission?

He definately has his critics (flat earth society mentality, in my opinion ) as his wikipedia entry notes:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Patrick_Holford

Though I have followed his principles for many years now and consider myself extremely healthy and very young looking for my age

Hi Jonnie,
I'm afraid I'm one of the flat earth society I read 'Bad Science' in the Guardian on Saturdays, which addresses Holford and MaCeith on a regular basis, because they both spew such rubbish. Holford is also involved in trying to sell vitamins to south africa to alleviate their AIDS problem, to go along with the adive of their president to eat garlic instaed of anti-AIDS drugs. Will dig it up if you are interested.
Nick
p.s. Holford has given himself a diploma from the 'institute' that he set up-what a clever guy

ya know...

I have been laying down trying to sleep for an hour and a half, and it just aint happening. Im just so angry. Angry about bad choices i have made, and abuse from others. But the biggest problem is i dont remember much about it. It is just this feeling that comes and goes. Personally, i dont care what happened. Whatever it was, it is gone now and it obviously doesnt matter anymore, and the feelings only interfere with my life.

The reason i say this is that it might be another symptom of whatever is affecting me. Is there any Pranayama, or Asana that can help with this? Is this a nutrition problem? Does anybody have any experience with this?

To relist the symptoms:

frequent hunger but weak appetite
frequent dizzyness after standing up
hypersomnia with difficulty waking up in morning
inability to focus, lazyness
mood swings including anger/resentment, anxiety, doubt, but not really depression

thanks in advance

It does sound like a depression to me.

I felt like you describe when I was depressed. All the emotional stuff I had bottled up inside of me started to affect my sleep, my apetite, my ability to focus and so on and so forth. What we feel and think affects our body more than we think.

If I were you I would get my physical status checked out by a doctor, so that you can help the body in the best possible way. Then I would contact a psychologist (or something like that), someone who can help you help your heart and soul as well. I would do this regardless of what the physical status is, because of what you said about being angry over choices you have made and people who have hurt you.

In other words; "attack" the problem from all angles, don't leave the body or the mind behind.

Hi Nick,

I must have missed this first time round.

Look on the bright side, at least you have good taste in newspapers

bred - sounds like depression, for sure. Asana and pranayama will be important aspects of working on this, but you should look elsewhere for help, as well. Did you say elsewhere that you are on meds? Those may have to be adjusted. Keep your diet light and clean - lots of fruit and veg, lots of water. Be disciplined with sleep. Regular bedtime and waking, no matter whether you slept of not. I understand insomnia - no fun. One little trick I use now on the rare occasion I can't sleep is to imagine I am lying on a beach somewhere

i appreciate all the advice. I am currently under the care of a psychiaritrist (sp?), have been for years. I am taking medication for anxiety, and also for ADD. I dont feel depressed, though. I used to be depressed though. That was really bad. It was a constant feeling of depression. This is just mood swings where i feel normal, then i feel 'unbalanced' in some way, whether it be angry, anxious, depressed, etc.

This board is great btw. Maybe someday i can contribute with advice rather than quesitons.

Dear Brandon: You need to be in touch with someone who is knowledgeable and you can trust. If you have been with Psychiatrist for years: Do you trust in him/her? But, you need to find a way to become peaceful first. Other should be addressed after that. So, do not worry about nutrition, etc. too much. Find a method to become peaceful. You can find it yourself, or with someone's help. That someone can be as simple as your Mom.
