| Does anyone know what Mr Iyengar's diet consists of?! May sound like a really random question but I'm just wondering what he eats to maintain his body and also the strength he has to perform his asanas and his daily practice.....

I know people who have cooked for Geeta and it seems they have a pretty typical Indian diet. Rice, dal, veggies, etc. BKS is known to love real, dark chocolate, has coffee in the morning and Geeta likes a little ice cream (no eggs, of course) after lunch |

Since your question has to do with his strength, I have to answer in two parts, the second part being more important:
- He is vegetarian, in Indian style, but moderate eater, in fact with good control on his eating.
- The diet is not the main reason for his strength. In fact, with all respect, I must say, 'his diet is NOT ideal at all'.
Now, I have to add one more thing: Diet alone does not decide the strength. |

I very much agree. I think that daily naps add years to a person's life. |

Location: A Blue State | He's a vegetarian, yes, and I think that he knows how to pick a good cook. As for his strength.. HMM.. I bet it has at least a tiny bit to do with his five hour daily yoga practice. Also, heads up to everybody, he doesn't smoke and he doesn't drink alcohol! Not even Charodonnay with dinner! .. bg |
