I'm a real fan of http://www.nutritiondata.com for detailed nutritional info on a wide variety of foods. Their search capabilities work well, you can choose different quantities to refresh the nutritional info based on what you may typically use, and they use a lot of interesting analytical graphs (keep scrolling down the page after you find a particular food of interest) and ways of looking at foods that help evaluate a particular food from a variety of perspectives that give a good picture of the overall nutritional value of what you are eating.

I sent the link to my wife.

She's nuts about food, it's like the thing she thinks about the most.

Well hopefully she will enjoy it! And if you need a little peace and quiet, you can ask her something like, "What do you think is better for us, walnuts or almonds? What does that site I sent you the link to come up with?" Of course if you need the 'puter, this may not be such a good idea! ;)

jo - do you have an attribution for your quote? I have been discussing things like that with someone recently.

You know, I heard someone say this in a 12-step meeting, but he didn't say the source. I just loved it so much... I am the queen of geographical solutions to my problems. It never solves them.. but my first impulse after a disagreement is to think I am going to leave and go somewhere- to the beach, to the country...
ultimately, if I go somewhere, the problems come too! Hahahahahaa.... if I find out, though, I'll let you know..

So true - my son, who has been very isolated this summer, says something similar.
