| I just read this article about the newest bariatric surgery- inserting a balloon full of saline into your stomach to reduce it's volume. Kinda like putting a breast implant into your stomach. They color the liquid blue so you know if the balloon pops- your urine turns bright blue..... does this seem weird to anyone but me??? They recommend this for people who are extremely overweight... but it doesn't address the emotional issues behind eating. I have found over the years that most people who are significantly overweight are that way because of things that run deeper than food (including myself).
You see the same thing going on with gastric bypass.. all these people put their lives at risk for this- almost every person I have met who has done this as a quick fix and not addressed underlying emotional issues have found a way to gain back their weight... the stomach stretches out again.
With all of the propaganda around these surgeries- TV shows, magazine articles, etc- NOT ONE has ever mentioned seeing a therapist of joining a support group to look inside your head. Exteme obesity doesn't just happen in the stomach, it also happens in the brain and the heart.....
This stuff kills me sometimes!! It is as though teams of people sit around and see how else they can prey on desperate, vulnerable people........  |

| It's just another way to avoid the truth.
Self analysis can be really destructive to the ego.
I figure that once the destruction is done there is always time for reconstruction.
Ego doesn't always serve the higher self, so why try to protect it so much?

| Just the other day I heard someone refer to their addict self as "King Baby".... I thought that was awesome. Babies are all about the Id, the ego hasn't even kicked in yet...
