Subject: Heat and Pain

Hi All,

Just want to share this scientific explanation for something many people have known, from experience, for a long time:

http://www.sciencedaily.com/releases/2006/07/060705090603.htm

Started to post this in the Bikram forum , where it might have set off a fun round of comments, but self-discipline won out.

Great article, Brian.

This is why warming herbs like tumeric, cinnamon and cayenne are successful in relieving pain when taken internally (under the supervision of a licensed health care practitioner).

By the way, frankincense and myrrh are great pain relievers, too. (Also taken internally - I'm not talking essential oils. I'm referring to Chinese herbal formulas prescribed by a licensed practitioner). Interesting the 3 Wise Men brought frankincense and myrrh to Mary and Joseph when Jesus was born.

Thanks Brian!
