Subject: Losing weight in the waist

Hi all. Iam 5'4 and weigh 152 pounds. I have a problem reducing weight from my thigh and waist area. I have what is normally known as "pear shape" kind of weight. Can anyone tell me how to reduce weight in the thigh, waist and butt area using yoga? Which posture would help?

sangeetha - some aspects of a person's body are not changeable. I have worked with small children for many years and have seen children who have clearly inherited characteristics from their parents. One little girl, at only a little over one year old and very slim and healthy, was the very image of her mother from the waist down. She had heavy thighs (what we call "saddle bags") and thick ankles. My daughter has large feet - since she is nearly 6 feet tall, she is a large young woman! Those things cannot be changed, but working your whole body and eating well will help make the most of the gifts you have been given

what sort of food do you eat?

does it include any

1) white sugar
2) white flour
3) corn syrup
4) sodium benzoate
5) preservatives of any kind
6) processed food that comes in a bag or box
7) any alcoholic bevarage

if you can answer yes to any of these above you may need to eliminate these items and balance your remaining food choices intelligently.

Having a healthy body and a healthy food menu should help you gain your prefferred body image.

Just to let you know, eliminating these items can be quite a challenge.

I totally hear your problem.
well for me,I tried a few things and they are showing to bw working.

* food combine, and eat simply, many small meals rather than cuople of large meals a day.
* cut out caffeine, drink peppermint tea and dandelion tea, this takes away water retention, realy makes a difference.
* for me I do callanetics, the only excercise that for me removes weight and reshapes these areas into something beautiful.bear in mind, not many use callanetics, and its a little dated, but if you want results fast, with no injury to your body, callanetics is what you need.
* sip water constantly everywhere you go,always have water with you

just suggesting what is working for me

best of luck
