Subject: Things to know

Hello - I am wondering if anyone has some pointers, etc. of things to keep in mind and make sure are taken care of when first starting as a teacher.

I've just been certified and am looking to teach classes or private lessons. I already have a few people I will be teaching privately. What are something that may be on a "checklist" of things to know when starting out?

Namaste

make sure you have insurance?

make sure you're also CPR/First Aid certified?

make sure you keep records of your income and expenses for tax purposes?

Who is your cert with? Do you have a mentor teacher who can help you with this, even from a distance? I can't imagine starting without my trusty mentor and other yoga colleagues. One good tip is to remember to introduce yourself to your class. I forget to this on a regular basis

thanks for the tips. certified with Yandara Yoga Institute www.yandara.com - unfortunatly my colleagues are miles in every direction and my mentor is farther (almost unreachable). i will definitely try to maintain more communication with him. thank you again. anything else that may come to mind would be great to find out.
