I have recently moved to Dubai and would like to keep up with Iengar Yoga classes - does anyone know if these are available in Dubai?

Dear Nat,

There is a Iyengar teacher on Al Wasl. Her name is Azita and her mobile is 050 7195658. She teaches a.m. and p.m. Another teacher is Djoeke van der Werf, also in Jumeirah, tel. 04 349 1083.

Best wishes with your yoga in Dubai and enjoy !

Hi Cerise,
It seems you've already settled down in town and been to yoga classes. There is another Iyengar teacher in Dubai who is unfortunately leaving the country, that's why I'm looking for a replacement. I've heared from him that Djoeke has a modified teaching style (my teacher, Shiva, is very traditional). If you've been to both Djoeke and Azita's classes, can you say that one of them is more traditional than the other? (A difficult question, I know!) And do they use props? ( a moderate use of them is ok with me, but I do not want to be dependent on them). All I could find so far is that Djoeke is teaching somewhere near Jumeira beach park. Does she teach in a studio or at her home? What about Azita. If they are teaching at home, how much do they charge for a class? I know, so many questions, but I prefer to ask another person than themselves. I don't feel comfortable to ask a teacher about the cost, because it is important to me as Iyengar is not the only yoga class I'm taking right now, and I have no income yet, so ... Thanks in advance.
