You know yoga makes me stressed out now!
I'm stressed when I dont do or if I think I wont have time too.
And then there is this web page I always want to be here and that stresses me too.

But check your local newspapers, you should find what you looking for there.

Mary:
Let me know your location. And, I can suggest you. Also, do a google search with 'Yoga Stress Relief YourLOCATION STATE' all these words. You should prefer one or two private classes from an experienced teacher than the Group Class if you are a disciplined person, who will do home practice later. Otherwise, you should join a group class and also do home practice.

One of the best schools of yoga for stress relief is Sivananda Yoga.

If there isn't a Sivanda Center near you, there are Sivananda trained teachers practically everywhere.

The main website is here: http://www.sivananda.org/

If you have trouble locating a teacher, let me know and I can try to help you find one.

Best of luck!

I agree with you on Sivananda. I've not had a tension headache since taking it up two years ago. As I work in IT and spend all day sat at a computer terminal, this is saying something.

If you are a newbie to yoga, I would suggest that you also take up Iyengar or Anusara as Sivananda does not place so much emphasis on correct alignment as these forms. Correct alignment helps to address any muscle/sketal issues you may have and protects against injury.

Yes yoga is great! It makes you relaxed, gives you a sense of power, and it tones you up really nice too. I love yoga; the benefits are great.

I recommend starting with a beginner program--the ones on tv like in fit tv are pretty advanced--but follow one tape for a while, i started with Simply Yoga and worked up to more challenging ones. The MTV ones are also a good choice. Simply Yoga is kind of boring but it gets you really flexible and you won't even realize it. Good luck!!
