| My son is nine years old and he has very mild ADHD. He takes the lowest dosage of medicine that is avaliable. I was wondering if taking up yoga is something that that might help him stay focus. Any information is appreciated. |

| Yoga would probably be very helpful for your child. Look for a certified yoga teacher, who is experienced in working with children. Pranayama, simply defined as controlled breathing techniques can be very helpful in promoting relaxation, reducing anxiety, and improving concentration. Alternate nostril breathing, or Viloma Krama, is being researched as a tool to balance the left and right hemispheres of the brain (the right nostril should be accented for your son). Introduction of asanas, or poses, and vinyasas, or poses strung into a pose will help hold your son's interest, open his body and mind, and improve concentration and focus, among many other things. |
