Check out the yoga for beginners guide here:

First of all try to get complete information about yoga, yoga poses and yoga benefits, then try to get a proper yoga teacher who will guide you properly in performing yoga.

I have been practicing a 'kriya' offered by yogi Sadhguru online. It is called "Isha Kriya" and it was the first time I experienced a real meditative state.

Do not meditate with an empty or full stomach. When you are at home, chances are, you will be eating all you want or not eat at all. An empty or full stomach while meditating could be distracting so make sure that you have eaten enough to make you feel comfortable while sitting. This is one of the basic rules to be followed on how to meditate for beginners.
