TOKYO, Sept. 28 (Xinhua) -- Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe on Thursday dissolved the more powerful lower chamber of Japan's bicameral parliament and called a general election.
The general election will be held on Oct. 22.
Abe last dissolved the lower house of parliament in November 2014 and thereafter led the ruling Liberal Democratic Party (LDP) and its junior Komeito coalition ally to a sweeping victory in the following election.
Thursday's dissolution marks the 4th time in postwar Japan that the lower chamber has been dissolved on the day the Diet has convened.

ACCRA, March 1 (Xinhua) -- The Executive Committee of the Ghana Football Association (GFA) Tuesday night set up a six-member committee to search for a new coach for the senior national soccer team, the Black Stars.
The committee will be headed by GFA president Kwesi Nyantakyi.
The decision was taken at the executive committee's meeting in Accra Tuesday.
The committee tasked to search for the Black Stars was directed to use the headhunting and applications from interested coaches as the two methods to be used to recruit the new coach.
""The Committee was also mandated to target suitable and competent coaches for consideration even if they don't apply for the post,"" the GFA said in a release.
The assistant coach of the Black Stars Maxwell Konadu was given a temporary charge of the team until the substantive coach is named.
Ghana is without a coach following the departure of Israeli Avram Grant who ended his term by mutual consent at the end of last month.
The 62-year-old who previously managed teams likes of Chelsea, West Ham United and Portsmouth, took charge of the Black Stars in December 2014.
The new coach will lead Ghana to face Congo in the 2018 World Cup qualifier in August.
" After the Ryder Cup I set off for a week collecting down at St Andrews at the Dunhill links championship with the intention of collecting the odd celebrity autograph and one or two pieces of golf memorabilia. After meeting up with a few fellow collectors we headed out on to the golf course to try and obtain some signed photos and collectible memorabilia. After a couple of hours in the wind and cold it was decided to call it a day and with a few golf autographs in my autograph book and a signed poster (which unfortunately got damaged in the wind). Tuesday morning was no better weather wise however there were several opportunities to collect Ryder Cup memorabilia and the occasional golf autograph.

It is really strange how sometimes you can go out collecting and end up with something completely different, on Wednesday I tried to get a Johan Cruyff autograph and football memorabilia but ended up with several items of autographed memorabilia(a signed golf flag Marcelo Grohe World Cup Jersey , signed golf balls, autographed photos and a large collection of celebrity autographs in my autograph album). But still not any Ryder Cup autographs.
