High blood pressure, or hypertension, is a medical condition in which blood pressure in the arteries is elevated, causing the heart to work harder in order to to circulate blood through the veins and arteries. Most reported cases of hypertension fall into the category of primary hypertension, which is high blood pressure with no fundamental medical cause. Stress has been proven to be a contributing factor to hypertension with all the worries about job, family, debt and other concerns.

Sinatra M.D., co-author of “Earthing” and a cardiologist, writes, “I am convinced that grounding does indeed lower blood pressure.” High blood pressure is a serious health concern because of the risk factor for heart attack, stroke and aneurysms of the the arteries. It has also been proven to be a chronic cause of kidney disease and can shorten the life expectancy of those diagnosed with this illness.
