I practice mindfulness/ meditation in which I simply notice that I am breathing and bring my attention to the sensations of my breath. When my mind wanders I notice what is on my mind when I realise it, and bring my attention back to my breath. I have been doing this for a few weeks now and noticed that when I am sleepy it is a lot harder to do. When I am sleepy my mind wanders a lot more into dreamy daydreams than when if I am more alert and awake.

Therefore, is it better to practice meditation when you are more awake rather than sleepy/tired?

Thanks!
