Staying fit is a must a healthy mind and a healthy body is the key to a happy life. A healthy mind and relaxed soul is the outcome of a healthy body. When you are young you can stick to a strict exercise regime and join a gym. This helps you to maintain your body. However, this is difficult in many cases since one does not have enough time these days. Busy routines and schedules, do not give people enough time to look after the health of their body. In old age it becomes more important to look after your body. At this age you cannot neglect your body. You have to pay attention to your body to stay healthy. However, at this age it Is not possible for one to work out. Then what can be done to live a healthy life. Yoga, it is the option that senior citizens can resort to.
Practicing yoga at an early age is a good habit and will keep you away from any health problem at a later stage in your life. However, if you could not do it then and now have crossed 50 and want to practice Yoga, let me tell you it is never too late. Yoga can be opted for at the age of 50 or after crossing 50.
At an old age the type of exercise resort to you can actually determine whether you stay healthy or increase your health problems. Wrong chosen exercise will hamper your physique all the more.
Yoga is a blend of meditation, postures, therapies, etc. the postures are also varied. In hot yoga and power yoga the poses require you to stretch your body to the limit so that you lose weight, maintain your body, etc. However, when your cross a certain age the type of exercise you choose is very important. This exercise has to be such that your body is relaxed and energized as well. Simple asanas like pranayam, butterfly, etc. are very simple but help your body muscles relax. The muscles at a senior age tend to get brittle. Any careless behaviour might lead to serious muscle injuries, also the flexibility of the muscles decreases. A simple exercise that can help you get back the flexibility as well as relive you of bone and muscle pain is yoga.
If you too are a senior citizen opt for a yoga Retreats with a yoga trainer or a nearby yoga retreat with you.
