There are many different types of yoga. They are all supposed to lead you to the same place -- union with god, the universe, or yourself if you don't believe in a God. Kundalini Yoga is the "Yoga of Awareness." It works on the chakra system, your nervous system, and your glandular system. I like this yoga best

Yoga is a wonderful tool to shape the body, to promote health and relaxation and to help the recovery of many different types of ailments, illnesses and diseases. Yoga aims at restoring the body to its optimum condition, therefore encourages the proper functioning of all body systems. It focuses on the cause of health problems and treats all aspects of the person, including the body, mind and spirit, rather than the symptoms alone.

Yoga is concentration - better than concentrate on what we have written here. Why dont you go to many different yoga classes with different yoga teachers and experience for yourself. Because your experience will help answer your question more than what is written here.
