| Maybe by trying to help other humans with problems that might be more serious than your own.
(and please don't misunderstand me, I am not implying that depression is not a serious problem) |

| If any one have depressed or feeling stress then do yoga and meditation. Meditation will help more to recover from depression. Meditation built confidence and change way of thinking. It was my personal experience because before some time I am also gone away from this stage. |

| Try everything until you find the right combination of tools to help you better cope. All the while, you'll be exploring new activities, perhaps meeting new people, and getting your mind off problems. Definitely regular yoga will help; meditation; going to a gym and trying out silly yet fun tae-bo, aerobics or spin classes, going to the park, talking to professionals and friends.... keep busy and good luck! |

Location: London | samoajoe - 2011-01-26 11:03 AM help I recommend reading "Depressive Illness, curse of the strong" by Dr. Tim Cantopher. I suffer from recurrent depression and found this short and very readable book a relieving and pleasant read. Tim actually states that depression is as physical an illness as a broken arm or pneumonia and that it should really be called "limbic disorder". Depression is something you definitely can't just 'snap out of' and resting and giving yourself time is the only way to heal. Feel free to PM me if you need a chat. |

| Everybody experiences depressive moods now and then for short or long time. Stress, lack of motivation and aims, bad luck and unhappiness in relationships can be the cause of it.
Observing the feelings and seeing the life in the light of eternity (meaning that everything passes and has no real value to be painfully attached to), can also help and give space to let things happen. |

| I have found the best way to deal with general, not deep depression, is diet, exercise, relaxation, and adequate sleep. What we eat is one of the biggest influences on our health and well being. I would highly recommend as much of a whole food diet as possible. Exercise in general helps us balance our moods and lift our spirits. I have yoga to have th added benefit of being a calming influence. Finally, sleep. The average American is seriously sleep deprived. We need adequate sleep to function well. this differs from person to person but I find most people underestimate their need. I know I need 8-9 hours a night. Yes, it is hard. It means giving up some things but the return is worth it. |
