How much time do you take for final Savasana?

It varies--how I feel, what I have to do, how many guys are there so I need to rock & roll to get to the showers. And honestly, I don't see a value in Savasana with Bikram-been working myself into a lather in that hot room under a concentration camp teacher--I want out of there!

Savasana should be 5 - 10 minutes and those of you (not mentioning any names) who feel the urge to skip it or shorten it are probably the ones who need it the MOST One of the most important aspects of savasana is that it gives the body a chance to incorporate and absorb the learning from the practice on a cellular level. It also gives the energies that have been zooming around the body and chance to resorb (is that a word?) so you maintain that feeling of being energized without being too wound up and possibly crashing later.

I'm one of those who has a hard time filling out my Savasana. Usually, it's because
I'm at home and my family is getting restless. In studios, savasana
sometimes gets cut short owing to the next class that's waiting. All that aside, I had
a glorious savasana this evening. I just melted into the floor.....

Was reading a generic yoga book this evening--recommendation was 5 minutes of savasana for each 30 minutes of practice--that seems fair.

i understand the whole 'running to the shower' before the other guys. there is only 1 shower at my studio, and sometimes as many as half a dozen dudes. 6x2 minute shower is too long for me to wait around, so I blast outta there, or just skip the shower all together.

That sounds like an opportunity to practice clenching your glutes....

...sorry...

....maybe a chance to shower with a towel wrapped around your waist?
