Expert Yogi Posts: 5098 Location: Somewhere in the Mountains of Western NC | I don't know what it is with me and the number 9 and black cats. This year 2 of the male cats left home and 7 stayed. So we have 7 black cats. Then, this grey cat kept hanging around. We thought it was a he....but, it ended up being a she. SHE got pregnant by Anakin or Milo..probably Anakin since the babies follow him around the most. SHE as in Mama kitty is gone, vanished without a trace. She left me with 2 babies. One is solid Black and the other is solid Grey. I named them Blacky and Smoky Joe. So, now I have 9 cats again. 8 are solid black and 1 is solid grey. Today, I really wanted to bond with Smoky Joe. He's such a cutie and it's so nice to have a cat that's not BLACK!! So, I decided to catch him...he's a wild little thing. I did and I brought him in the house. I snuggled with him and then put him down. He ran straight under the entertainment center....UGH!! That things weighs a ton. I was so worried, I really screwed up. DD and I finally managed to get him OUT of the house. It was so cute the way he ran out...like, I'm outa here and never coming back. The funny thing is...they sure as hell don't seem to mind anything when eatin' time comes around. I sure hope these 2 little babies end up being as sweet as the other 7. These are wild feral cats and I want them to stay that way. I like it when they are mildly tamed to just our family and no one else. Okay, that's what's going on around here in the mountains. that's great! We have a group of cats that have moved onto my parent's farm. One was so super friendly, my brother brought her home last year. She ended up getting pregnant (after the vet wanted to wait to spay her until she was a higher weight).. I got one of her kittens and I just love her to death. She's a little tortie and just so much fun. I have two others who live outside.. they have zero interest in ever being inside the house. But they come around for food and love!

Expert Yogi Posts: 5098 Location: Somewhere in the Mountains of Western NC | You'll have to just use your imagination GJ. It can't be that hard..Black is Black and Grey is Grey. These cats are way too fast for me. I'll have to find some time with my Digital camera and wait them out. They have a hiding spot under my deck. If you really want to take your imagination further....my house looks like this. There are beehives everywhere. Big Rottweiler in the back yard. Black cats on every corner. They hang out in the darndest places. Sometimes you can be walking by an apple tree, look up and have a black cat right in your face. Or they love to sleep on shelves, on top of the canoe and mainly ON TOP OF MY CAR!!! Like today, I have to go by the car wash before I go to the big city...beecause there are cat prints all over it. I hate looking up through my sun roof to see paw prints...or the paw prints that looks like they slid down the windowshield, ARGH!! My husband, he really freaks out. He got a new car last month. First thing they did was jump on the hood and scratched it. He was outside putting towels all over the hood. It was funny. I was like, welcome to my world,

Black is black huh? I've got an old song running through my head now. Black is black, I want my baby back, Grey it's grey, since she went away Oh oh, what can I do? 'Cause I'm feeling blue. Anyway, if I can't get my kitty porn this way, I think I'll have to try something else.....

Oh I love that song! In fact, I think I have an original vinyl pressing of it somewhere. Fee

Expert Yogi Posts: 5098 Location: Somewhere in the Mountains of Western NC | I changed my mind...Blackie is going to be called "Blackberry". His Grey brother is "Smoky Joe". Their starting to get closer to us now. Cats will do anything for FOOD,

Nice names. I really like Smokey Joe. I always struggle with naming stuff, those are some really cool names.

Expert Yogi Posts: 5098 Location: Somewhere in the Mountains of Western NC | Thank GJ...my DD makes fun of me calling him Smoky Joe. I really like it too and most of all...it fits him. Blackberry fits other one too, DD wants to name them Luke and Lea, because his father is Anakin. She named her new telescope OB1. I'm over these Star Wars characters. We have this dog named Yodha too ya know.

Expert Yogi Posts: 5098 Location: Somewhere in the Mountains of Western NC | I guess I am a wierd cat lady...although...I really didn't like choose this life...they sorda landed at my house. It all started with Kali. I had been living here for a few years before Kali came. Then she managed to call all her boyfriends and made a big huge family. I call her a grandma now. Blackberry and SJ are her grandsons. My house looks like some kind of Egyptian temple, the only thing lacking is a pyramid,

Cyndi - 2007-10-11 8:23 PM I guess I am a wierd cat lady... Nah, I don't think that. You've got a husband, and a daughter, and all that going for you. Crazy cat ladies live alone, and have hundreds of cats living in their places.

What a great photo. So good of them to pose for you. My Nutmeg will pose like a demon for me but trying to catch Maximus is a nightmare (spot the long suffering look on his teddy face). Fee, You're cats are adorable too! Cats crack me up because you can't tell if they're in it for love... or if there is an ulterior motive!

Bug hunter and trouble, Jos :-) Lovely! You would've laughed last night. I was having some cranio-sacral work done at home and Max insisted on 'helping' my therapist by tickling the back of her neck with his whiskers. It can be a little worrying having your masseuse giggling and wriggling whilst she's trying to rotate your head *lol* Fee Edited by Orbilia 2007-10-12 10:19 AM
