| Found this to be an interesting article on trolling. For those who don't know, it's making comments with a "bit of sting" to them, in an effort to get a rise out of other people, usually in a bad way. Often times it poisons communities such that the people who want to make a contribution are driven out by the negative and hostile environment created by the trolls. Once the people whom the trolls are feeding on are nolonger posting, the trolls also leave, leaving little if any traffic on the affected site.

| I find this offensive to us trolls. Just because we enjoy sitting in the dark, dank corners under foot bridges whilst waiting to leap upon and devour the unwary traveller, folk think they can malign us any way they please...... *some hours of mythist ranting later*..... *clickety click*..... Oh, you mean *that* kind of troll!..... Don't get me started on how some folk just like to start flame wars for the hell of it. Did I ever tell you about......

Trip Trap Trip Trap...who's that trapping over my bridge,
Do ya'll remember "The Billy Goats Gruff"??
I think ZB and Marylisa need to make sure their kids get their copies too!! There's a scary version and a more gentler version. My son liked both while daughter liked the nice version.

| The Billy Goats Gruff was what I had in mind :-) Never saw the films, just had them in my nursery rhyme books as a kid.

| Quick follow up: Looks like the Craig's List troll is getting sued.....
I guess waiting for sunlight to hit them is old fashioned, and instead they get the same treatment as everybody else in modern society.

Location: Somewhere in the Mountains of Western NC | When my parents read this book to me I wasn't scared either. I was always taught that there were things in life that were not going to always be pleasant, and there was always somebody around the corner, or in this case, under the bridge, that would always try to f**k with you. It taught me how to ignore those people and stand up for myself - no fears. Take the good and the bad, such as life. Besides, its always fun to have trolls around to keep you on your toes. Personally, I've always loved the challenge, bring it on trolls,
My son's grandmother was a librarian who felt this book was the very best book for children. She had it in the top 5. Both my children got copies from her when they were small. She even photo copied one from the library, for my son, that was no longer available and out of print. I still have it.
