I see that even the Catholic priests practise Yoga.

To my knowledge, the only dispute was in the field of meditation, not asanas or pranayama. But there is a discipline called "Christian Meditation." It is the same like Yoga meditation. What makes the meditation Christian is your Christian faith.

Father Joe Carrerra, an Indian Catholic priest, is a very senior Iyengar yoga teacher.

The Catholic mystics (and the tradition is QUITE RICH & DEEP) have no problem with other spiritual paths/traditions, it is the Church hierarchy & fundamentalists (of any faith) who have issues.

Well, I think anyone can do yoga regardless of their beliefs and traditions.
