| I have been practising yoga for about 3 months now about 3 times a week with a yoga video. How often should yoga be practised? On the days I feel very sore, I tend to skip yoga...should I instead work too on those days? Advise would be helpful as I don't have a teacher, but am looking. I am in love with it and find myself craving to do it a lot. I have noticed a significant improvement. |

| Led,
Follow your love and craving for the practice and let that be the judge of how often you do yoga.
3 times per week is great; you can do more if you like, but I would reccomend taking a day off once a week or when you feel like you need to rest and rejuvinate your body.

Timothy

| Thanks for the advice! It's so wonderful to hear different voices about yoga...truly I appreciate it. Yes, I think it's a great idea. It's amazing how yoga has helped to inform so much about my body, mind and spirit...I began meditation the other day for 10 min thinking beforehand it seemed a long time to sit and meditate, but I couldn't believe how fast it flew by. ANyhow, I'm rambling...again, thanks to everyone!

| It sounds like you are off to a well-rounded and wonderful practice! Enjoy it as much as you like, but never practice if it's causing pain. Remember, yoga is a gentle discipline and if you're too sore, you're body's telling you to rest. you can also simply skip the asanas that work the muscles that are sore. Maybe spend some days just on balance or inversions and others on backbends, etc.
Hope this helps! |

| Meditation could help us in getting detached with unnecessary things around us. It helps us in becoming patient and never to become worried about the past and the future. Studying how to meditate for beginners, you will be able to see the bigger picture on all things instead of worrying about unnecessary things. |
