| Hi. I'm new to the board and have a question for you all.
In August I was diagnosed with a dermoid cyst on my right ovary. It was not too big, about 3cm. My doctor scheduled a laparotomy, but in the meantime I sought a second opinion. The new doc said she could easily remove my cyst via laparoscopy. I made the decision to switch doc's because of the difference in recovery time and I also just liked the approach of the second doc better. After waiting a month for the insurance to switch over (gotta love HMO's!) and waiting another 3 weeks to get an appointment, I was finally able to get in to schedule the operation.
The office called yesterday and said my surgery is scheduled for January 11, '05. That means that it will be a full six months from diagnosis to surgery.
Does anyone know how fast these things can grow? I went in originally because of pain and that's how they found the cyst. It still hurts, but the pain is dull and mostly tolerable.

| Can you call / write to your new doctor and ask? If he/she feels the duration is a problem, you may get bumped up his/her list.
