Subject: MOM has SCIATICA..WHICH YOGA ?

Hi All,

I've been doing yoga for a few years now and it's been great in keeping healthy.

My mother has been dealing with Sciatica for a while now, and I just realized that maybe YOGA is the answer for her. She lives in a small town where there is no yoga studio. She is 65 years old.

Is there a specific type of yoga that she should try?
Are there are DVDs out there for beginner yoga students with a focus on back problems?
Are there any lists of poses out there that deal with Sciatica specifically?

Thank you in advance for your suggestions!

sincerely,
jules

her best bet is with a teacher--could you find a teacher who would be willing to go to her for private instruction? (yogaalliance.com has a list of teachers).

i would recommend iyengar or anusara, personally. books might be best.
